Switching Regulators

Our high-efficiency DC-DC switching regulator ICs generate less heat, consume less current and require less board space than other solutions, enabling more robust operation and longer battery life. Switching regulator circuits use a power switch, an inductor, and a diode to transfer energy from input to output. The basic components of the switching circuit can be rearranged to form a step-down (buck) converter, a step-up (boost) converter, or an inverter (flyback). Feedback and control circuitry can be added to regulate the energy transfer and maintain a constant output. Our wide selection of DC-DC converters offer high switching frequencies, very efficient internal switching elements, wide input voltage ranges, and built-in circuit protection to support a broad range of applications.
